Just to provide a bit of balance in the reviews…
If you’re like me and you keep your Mac’s OS up-to-date you’ll have no problems with the software download. I’m running version 10.6.5, my download worked fine.
As for TurboTax, I can’t even tell you how many consecutive years I’ve used this software. It’s always made my family’s tax season more organized, less stressful, and with e-file — more secure as well. I expect that this version will continue the tradition.

I have used TurboTax Deluxe for the past 4 years, and this is the first year I have downloaded the entire application (usually I install the CD they send in the mail, pay out the ear directly to TT, then enter a Key Code). I was a little nervous about using this method, but the price savings urged me to move forward. After the Amazon Software Downloader loaded, the TT software loaded right behind it, without a hitch. I have not filed yet this year, but I wanted to express that this method of obtaining the software for my Mac (currently running 10.5.8 on an almost 7-year-old G4) was seamless.

I’m on OS X 10.6.6 on my Macbook pro and this downloaded, installed and was ready for use in 5 minutes. It worked like this: buy, download the Amazon Downloader .dmg, mount .dmg, agree to download, drag to applications folder, run.
Much better than the CD/shipping route, cheaper by a few bucks too. Not sure why this shows up UNDER the shipping method, but be green about it and just download — it’s easy peasy to get it going. And best of all, you’re not left with a box and packaging to look at for the rest of the year!
