I was concerned before buying because I saw low reviews of the AVG 2012 products but since I had been happy with AVG for several years I decided to go ahead and buy. However, you can now count me as one of those dissatisfied AVG customers.
My problem was that after I upgraded to AVG Anti-Virus 2012 my Internet access would stop working after 10 – 20 minutes. I had to restart my computer to get it working but after a few minutes it would stop working again (e-mail, web browsing, FTP, everything). After I uninstalled AVG – which I had to use AVG’s special remover tool for because standard uninstall didn’t complete – my Internet access would work indefinitely, as it should. It’s clear that something about this version of AVG was the culprit.
Now I am trying the Kaspersky 2012 trial. I haven’t used it long enough to know if I’ll end up buying, but I do know that my Internet access works fine. Now to ask Amazon for my money back…

I have used AVG for about 5 years without any problems. My licenses expired soon and I started receiving offers from AVG to renew. I found that purchasing through amazon and downloading online was quite a bit cheaper than the offers that I received directly from AVG. I did not even have to actually install the software. I just entered the new license key that I received at my amazon purchase time and then my renewal date moved out 12 months. This was a cheaper, easy way to renew for me.
