Even better than the original Kandle, May 23, 2011

I ordered the Kandle II after I gave my original Kandle to my sister, she was going to Europe for a semester. So I ordered this Kandle II. I love it. This one has more than one light setting and it is brighter than the original one. It also comes with an extra set of batteries. SCORE!
The clip is the same, it fits perfectly on my Kindle, and the light is evenly distributed throughout the page.
I would highly recommend this item, especially if your Kindle is an extension of you, like it is in my case.

Apparently other reviewers either just got the light when they wrote their reviews, or they have far better luck with them than I have. I had three of the first version Kandles. One refused to light ever again after the first battery change. The way the Kandle spreads the light on the Kindle screen was so good I tried again and bought two when they were on sale for $12.50 each. The first one fell apart..the clip snapped off, and all I was doing was clipping it on the Kindle. This was after a couple weeks of use. The second of those is still in use. But I wanted one for my bedroom so I ordered the Kandle II, thinking it would surely be better than the first one. It’s not. We can’t even open it to replace the battery. The screw goes round and round but never actually unscrews so you can open the battery door. So color me done with the Kandle. I’ve spent quite a bit on the four lights and still only have one light that works. It’s a pity because no other light works as well…the light is even with no glare. But that’s not enough. It just isn’t durable (and honestly, how hard of use does a book light get?) So this was my last try. I’m shopping for something else.
